You’ve heard of a wedding weekend, but what about a week-long, bi-coastal celebration? After 22 years together, Nicole and Hassan had loved ones across the country they wanted to celebrate with. Their wedding extravaganza began in Los Angeles with an intimate ceremony at The Fig House, followed by a jet-set transition to Miami for a star-studded reception for 250 guests. Our owner and founder, Chanda, had the pleasure of planning and producing the Los Angeles leg of this unforgettable week.
A Legacy in the Making: Nicole & Hassan’s Love Story
Both prominent federal lobbyists and leaders in their fields, Nicole and Hassan built their 22-year (and counting) love story on mutual respect and shared success. As proud HBCU graduates, they’ve remained deeply committed to giving back and celebrating Black excellence. Nicole serves as a National Trustee for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is the founder of the Black Girl Magic Network. Together, they share a historic Capitol Hill home in Washington, D.C., and a love of travel.
Nicole and Hassan were referred to Chanda by their Miami-based planner, André Wells. While Chanda now primarily plans multi-day weddings in Napa and the San Francisco Bay Area with Chanda Daniels Planning & Design, she always makes an exception for referrals from trusted creative partners like André, as well as for legacy clients.
An Intimate Ceremony at The Fig House
For their Los Angeles ceremony, Nicole and Hassan wanted their love to take center stage. They gathered a small circle of their closest family and friends at The Fig House, where they exchanged vows in the venue’s lush courtyard garden. The ceremony was officiated by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a personal friend, making the moment even more special. It was a beautiful culmination of decades of commitment and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
From there, the celebration spilled into the rest of the city they love. A champagne toast at a friend’s Santa Monica home, a live performance by Alivia Blue, and a patio party at the iconic Harold & Belle’s. By the time the Los Angeles portion wrapped, it already felt like a complete wedding experience, rich with the places, people, and moments that mean the most to Nicole and Hassan
